ALES BY MAIL

Having valiantly resisted all previous attempts to make our bottled beer widely available due to an innate fear of packing tape, we have now given in and arranged for distribution of our magnificent products via those lovely people at Ales By Mail.

Ales By Mail's crack team of Romford packing bunnies will be delighted to take your orders and ship lovely Crouch Vale beers to your door!

LIMITED EDITION BOTTLED WILLIE WARMER AND FPA

NOW IN STOCK; WHEN THEY'RE GONE THEY'RE GONE!

'Willie Warmer' (named in honour of William de Ferrers) is a rich, strong black beer weighing in at a tasty 6.4% ABV. It is available in bottles

for the first time, along with its paler cousin 'Fine Pale Ale (FPA)', which is an easy-drinking golden ale,

but equally commanding of respect at 5.9% ABV!

These limited edition bottles make ideal gifts, especially presented in a Crouch Vale gift pack available at the Brewery's shop.

The brewery's award winning beers 'Brewers Gold' and 'Amarillo' are of course also available in bottle.

AMARILLO IS KING OF POSH 2008

Amarillo picked up the Champion Beer at Peterborough Beer Festival yesterday, which we're very pleased about. They're a very discerning bunch up there and the competition was very stiff indeed.

AMARILLO BOTTLING A HUGE SUCCESS!

The bottling of Amarillo went ahead as planned and the results are (though we say it ourselves) fabulous!

All the characteristics of the draught product are abundantly present in the cold-filtered bottle version. We've gone for a slightly higher carbonation level than with the Brewers Gold bottles, and it does suit the beer very well. Again we used Thames Distillers in Clapham for the bottling, and thanks are again due to Treasures Transport of Grantham for their bulk liquid transportation services.

Seek this bottle out, it's well worth it!

WE'VE BOTTLED IT!

Yes, the 500ml bottled version of Brewers Gold is finally here, brewed as usual right here at Crouch Vale before popping down the A13 for expert bottling by 'Thames Distillers' in sunny Clapham .

Key points...

  • Identical brew to the cask version, with pronounced hop aroma, bittersweet flavour and long hop finish

  • To be served  however you like it - ice cool, lightly chilled or room temperature.

  • Cold-filtered, not pasteurised.

  • ‘No bloat’ low gas recipe.

  • Suitable for vegans.

THIS IS GETTING SILLY NOW...CBOB 2006

So yesterday Brewers Gold won Supreme Champion Beer of Britain again, thereby achieving the award two years running! Naturally we are beside ourselves with glee, in fact we're beside the version of us which was beside ourselves last year, so now there's three of us...or something.

Many thanks again to all supporters of this wonderful beer, we are terribly proud of it.

SHOP SHOP SHOP

The fitting out of the retail area at Haltwhistle Road is still under way, but you can now buy a small range of Crouch Vale merchandise online, at our new 'Shop' page, which can be found here.

MOVING......DEFINITELY.

By Monday 27th February we will be in our new offices and warehouse at 23 Haltwhistle Road, as predicted below. How exciting! So farewell then Redhills Road, for everyone except the brewing folk...who will join us soon.

ON THE MOVE...

We have acquired new premises, a mere half-mile away from our current home. The new site is considerably larger, with separate brewhouse and admin/warehousing areas planned. There will also be a brewery bar/shop to make the place a little more welcoming for visitors and polypin/merchandise customers....(not too welcoming obviously, this is Crouch Vale after all...).

Currently the builders are building, the water board are waterboarding, and the sparkies are sparking, and we anticipate moving the offices and warehousing over by February 2006.

We are currently locating the bits for a the new brewhouse, to be installed as soon as possible, but realistically Summer-ish 2006. We anticipate doubling the current brewing capacity, enabling us meet demand more comfortably as well as perhaps making popular beers such as Amarillo and Brewers Gold Extra available on a permanent basis.

What we are NOT planning to do is go hell-for-leather, brewing as much as possible as soon as possible; on the contrary our aim is to continue as before, concentrating on our local market in Essex and the edges of the surrounding counties. We will remain your lovely, curmudgeonly local brewer...

Pictured above are a delighted Mr & Mrs Bocking, picking up a veritable wall-ful of trophies at the recent CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain Awards Dinner at The Porter Tun Rooms in Chiswell Street, That-There-London. Honestly, could those smiles be any more cheesy? Aw, bless......
